This turbo timer is designed to extend the life turbo-charger and engine by allowing engines to idle after the ignition key has been turned to the off position and removed. When engine oil continues to circulate through a hot turbocharger bearing housing, heat is dissipated from the bearings and impeller shaft thereby preventing bearings from "boiling," which is the number one cause of turbo failure in automobile engines.
